Rubies Tech Foundation recently hosted the Tech Educators Conference 2.0, a transformative event that brought together educators, technologists, and thought leaders to explore the intersection of technology and education. With a focus on unraveling the trends and challenges in this dynamic landscape, the conference provided valuable insights and perspectives from a lineup of esteemed speakers and panelists.

This virtual event with the theme: “TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION: UNRAVELLING ITS TRENDS AND CHALLENGES” was held on Friday, 15th of March 2024 at 8:00 PM WAT via Zoom. It was also livestreamed on Youtube. The conference featured a diverse lineup of speakers and panelists who shared their expertise and insights on the role of technology in education. Dr. Adetola Salau emphasized the pivotal role of educators in understanding and meeting the needs of their students. He emphasized the significance of embracing technology to stay relevant in an evolving landscape, highlighting that failing to do so could lead to being left behind. He said, “If you fail to embrace technology, it will catch up with you.”

Kafilat Adedeji focused on the importance of awareness among educators regarding online safety and the advantages and disadvantages of technology. She stressed that teaching safety measures alongside technological skills is crucial to bridging the gap between responsible tech users and those who are not. In her words, “Tech is revolutionary, there will be a huge gap between children using tech positively and those who do not.”
