Achieving a Milestone: How Rubies Tech Foundation Trained Over 200 Students During School Tech Tour ’24

The Rubies Tech Foundation’s School Tech Tour 2024 has successfully come to an end. During the tour, representatives from the Rubies Tech Foundation visited three schools and inspired over 200 young minds to embrace technology and coding.

First Stop: UI Staff School, University of Ibadan – A Week of Learning and Fun

From May 7th to 10th, our team of six dedicated representatives, Mr. Ayobami, Mr. Benedict, Miss Glorious, Mr. Olalekan, Mrs. Yetunde, and Mr. Stephen, visited UI Staff School in Ibadan, Oyo state. We spent four days teaching over 150 kids the basics of computer knowledge and Scratch programming language. The students were eager to learn, and their enthusiasm was palpable. We were thrilled to see them grasp new concepts and develop a passion for coding.

Second Stop: Votam Life Gate School, Agbara, Lagos – Unleashing Creativity

On May 17th, our team of three representatives, Miss Temi, Miss Gloria, and Mr. Abdulaganiyu, visited Votam Life Gate School in Agbara, Lagos state. We taught 39 students the fundamentals of Scratch programming, and they quickly demonstrated their creativity and problem-solving skills. The students’ excitement and engagement were heartwarming, and we were proud to inspire the next generation of tech innovators.

Third Stop: Joyful Learners International School, Sagamu, Ogun State – Coding for the Future

On May 29th, our team, Mr. Benedict, Miss Adejoke, and Mr. Ayobami visited Joyful Learners International School in Sagamu, Ogun State. We taught 25 students from primary 3, 4, and 5 classes the basics of Scratch programming. Despite their young ages (9-11), the students showed remarkable aptitude for coding and quickly grasped the concepts. We were impressed by their focus and determination, and we’re excited to see the impact of our visit on their future endeavors.
