Overview
In the year 2022, during summer break, Rubies Technologies visited Abule Ijoko, a remote area in Ogun State, where they were able to train over 100 kids in coding and digital tech skills for 6 days, and some of the students also went home with devices that will aid their continuous learning. Currently, two of the four privileged attendees that won a laptop after the completion of the training are currently on a scholarship in our coding school to sharpen their web development skills, and one recently completed his six month scholarship to learn Python development. Since 2017, we have always been concerned about impacted people from rural areas in Nigeria and Africa at large and giving them access to tech education.
About RTF Physical Programming Bootcamp
Rubies Technologies Foundation’s (RTF) Physical Programming Bootcamp is a free boot camp for a particular period of time that gives kids and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 19 in the community the opportunity to learn to program effectively and build projects. The fact is, most students won’t go on to become professional coders. But whatever occupation they pursue, learning the basics of coding can give them a sense of confidence in technology. The programming bootcamp gives students a lot of ways to
learn, a high return on their investment, and a lot of ways to get help. The bootcamp also combines instructor-led sessions, independent study, practice assignments, and group projects. These programs provide opportunities to use industry-standard software and technologies. This ensures that students develop strong theoretical foundations and apply their knowledge.
This year, we plan to visit two locations, which are Epe in Lagos State and Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

Success and Impact Measurement
This bootcamp focuses on hands-on training. As such, the impact of the event would be measured by the following:
It is a great concern to us that most African children are not exposed to the use of technology at a tender age unlike their counterparts in the western world. In a bid to curb this issue, we are making technology more approachable by creating resources designed with empathy for the kids and teenagers in rural areas in Nigeria.
We want to catch their young minds and engage them with tools to help them learn, BUT we need support (funds) to make this dream a reality. The project is open to supervision by you just to foster a better relationship with Rubies Technologies.
Our overarching aim is to improve the learning outcomes and growing interests of children in coding. Our evidence is out there on all our social media platforms and on our website.
To properly initiate these young ones into tech, we will be having a week-long tech Bootcamp in the community, and to make it successful, this will involve financial requirements because of both human and material resources needed.
In return, we can offer
