Rubies Technologies To Host Virtual Tech Conference For Kids And Teenagers

Rubies technologies, a social enterprise organisation with special focus on kids and teenagers to embrace learning coding and programming has concluded plans to host its first virtual conference for kids and teenagers on Saturday, 29th August, 2020.


The Annual Brace Conference themed Emerging Technological Skills for Kids and Teens is an initiative of the organisation to train and expose kids and children to the opportunities, skills and advantages in technology and encouraging them to play a role in digital space.


Speaking about the conference, the project manager and founder, Rubies Technologies, Miss Temiloluwa Afape said it is time parents see the benefit in allowing their children have knowledge of the digital activities and allowing them to go into programming early in life.


She noted that kids are doing great things around the world while mentioning Emmanuella Mayaki, a 10-year-old Nigerian coding and programming genius who was recently given a job at the Southfield Primary School in Coventry, England as a coding teacher to be responsible for teaching other kids basics of coding.


The Brace Conference will involve kids and teenagers that will come and speak with the people.
Scheduled to speak on the theme of the conference is Isaac Damian Ezirim, a social innovator and founder of Teens Can Code who will be speaking on the theme: Emerging Technological Skills for Kids and Teens.


Also to speak at the conference are two kids who have created niche for themselves in the tech space. Adelakaun Opemipo is a 14 year–old software developer and he will be speaking on Why You Should Understand Programming while Joshua Agboola, a 9 year old Web Developer will be speaking on My Journey Into Tech So Far.


Rubies Technologies as social enterprise organisation has been at the forefront of empowering and encouraging children to be involved in technology, teaching schools and individuals coding. For the past 3 years, the organisation has trained 10 schools in Lagos, Ondo and Oyo state, reaching over 500 students by providing structure of training children on Web Development, Digital literacy, Python or Game Development.
